I am a firm believer that if we raise up our community together we all benefit. This is evident in how the industry gains appreciation through education for skilled services. We also all see benefit in recognition as regional thought leaders.

Taking leadership positions with all these groups and associations helped me find my way to give back in roles that I could not have imagined. I took a leap of faith and believed we could push for better.

MWUX19

MWUX was by far the largest event I have organized. It was equivalent to managing a second team for 15 months. II could not have done it without the support of my brilliant Co-Chair Dre Wallace and the skilled team we put together between the two of us.

IxDA & LTUX

Over the past near decade, I have heavily invested personally in elevating voices and awareness in the community for our local talent. Through UX and design-focused events and meet-ups we encouraged our members to engage in meaningful conversations, network with other local professionals, and develop new insights into UX processes and practices. Personally I benefited from the energy of seeing everyone grow as well as the relationships made in the wider national and international field of Interaction Design Professionals including many published leaders.
