Connected Products

Philosophy

As referenced by Clair Rowland in the book Designing Connected Products, I strongly advocate applying a lens of Consistency, Continuity, and Composition to any connected experience. We need to look holistically at the offering of the entire service as well, not just the physical or digital.

Bissell: Clean Connect Robot Vacuum

My relationship with Bissell started when we were a small studio working though concept development for the robot interface and recommending the display technology. Over time, I lead a team through the next generation development of the breadth of the experience that included the mobil application concepts, testing and into early development from their white labeled robot to their branded family unit that now integrated the embedded UI we began years earlier. It has been a fulfilling journey to see the product portfolio develop and leverage the frame work we began that was built for scale.

Sky: Atmosphere Air Purification Unit

For this client, Sky was the first connected product to launch along with a new AWS platform. This allowed a direct connection to consumers and an unfiltered view from dealers to understand behaviors and how to continuously deliver value while gaining insights. The concept development began in 2015 and launched in China in 2017.
